Art Project Poblenou has it’s official opening on the 28 of September 2024! Save the date & bring friends! ☺️

It has been an emotional time this summer - wee took the keys of the hub and started arranging things, welcoming people and even doing some events. We waited for the summer to go past, as in Barcelona everyone is away during this time of the year. Plus is very hot…

So here we are, entering September when at the end of it we’ll have our proper fiesta de inauguracion ☺️

NEW Creative Hub: Art Project Poblenou, Barcelona

With happiness and honour I share with you the begging of something new. Something exciting, artistic and wished to happen for a long time. An art project that accommodates different mediums under one roof for in the name of creation.

How it all began?

Like in a dream, very unexpectedly, but felt somehow right. I found the Catalan multidisciplinary artist Nuria Recasens and decided to visit her exhibition. It turned out that not only we had a similar style (despite the different mediums we use), but we also share the same vision about art and life.

So from a word to word, along more unexpected signs and events form the universe, we found a perfect space, where we can explore further our personal and professional work, but also create something more together.

We named it Art Project Poblenou.

What is it Art Project Poblenou?

Art Project Poblenou is a creative hub for artists to express themselves, a place where they can create or participate in classes. It includes painting and photography and expands into mixing and exploring the mediums further.

This is a place with many faces - a gallery, a photo studio, a workshop, a classroom and a place where you can record your own content. It is open for people from every age and background, who love art and want to develop their skills, or need a place to create their own work.

Where is it located?

Art Project Poblenou is located in the most creative neighbourhood in Barcelona - Poblenou. You can easily find us on Google https://maps.app.goo.gl/5nux6YTowPhiPFZw5 and use variety of transport to get to.

When does it open?

We will open our doors in June 2024 to begin using and transforming there place. The official opening night however, will be in the next couple of months - more information to follow.

Art Nude Photo Session: Body & Piano

Music has a special pulling power. Isn’t it amazing how sounds can make you feel? Can take you places and bring back memories? Can change the frequency of your emotions and turn them upside out and inside out.

During one of my commissions, I had to photograph all the musicians with their instruments. Some instruments are easier to frame - those easy to move have more posing options to play with. But I found myself challenged by the keyboard. I adore the piano, I love the keys - back&white, square edges, you know, my favourite things, but the shape of a keyboard… well, the shape I find a bit weird, looking less inspiring than its sound.

So I challenged my own creativity - something so square and static, but so beautiful to me, can I transform it and give it another look, another feel, put some body shapes around?

Maybe it’s true that whatever you capture with a female body will look beautiful. Or maybe is my love towards both that make me feel that way.

¡Feliz Sant Jordi!🌹📖🐉

It’s that time of the year again - they crazy-amazing and romantic day of Sant Jordi, celebrated here in Cataluña such an beautiful way. The celebration of the books and roses definitely beats up St. Valentine’s day in my opinion. I love books and roses and the marketing, presentation and general vibe around is just contagious.

I’m so happy to share with you, that this year I’ve collaborated with the great local artist Nuria Recasens - founder and owner of Nu•d’Art Gallery . Her work is truly inspiring, involving different styles and subjects of exploration. What stuck me most when I found her, was the fact that we actually have similar style aesthetics regarding portraituring the body as art. Her black and white pieces are very similar to my self-portraits. We share the same love and appreciation towards the natural female form and its beauty.

The gallery on the other side reflects perfectly her style and artistic nature. It’s located in Poblenou, Barcelona - Av. Diagonal, 104, tienda 3 and it’s a hub for personal creation and drawing and painting classes.

This year I’ve joined her in offering limited pieces for El Dia de Sant Jordi - illustrations, fine art prints, book marks and more. You can buy yours from the gallery or send us a DM. We’ll be open on the 23 April as well.

A Festive Self

Some time ago during a Christmas season I’ve started asking myself about the meaning of Family. I re-analyse all the family examples I know and all the information I’ve collected. From past to present, painting out to myself a detailed picture of the best family description I can give. I’m amazed how somewhere along the way family relationships can drift away from love and carrying. And yet how strongly connected to our truth we still remain.

There is a saying in Bulgaria - “The blood doesn’t become water”, which stands for the importance and connection between family members. In spiritual world is known that souls come to Earth in groups, in which their title changes, but the group remains together in every life. Which means our family is our “soul tribe” and we’ll also be together in the next life. So the issues we have with a family member is something that came from the past and if not sorted out, will continue to come back until it’s resolved. Or better - forgiven! A burden let go into the nothingness, causes the weightless feeling of love. What a relieve! And yet, how stubborn we could remain, letting the ego runs the show?

What a game life is!

This Christmas I had more time for myself than usual. Caught in thoughts I created my kind of festive season 2019. Lights down low, favourite tracks on. Let’s go…
