Creative Workshop: Paint Your Reflection

Art Project Poblenou offers one of a kind creative experience that will connect you deeper with your own self.

It’s called ‘Pain Your Reflection’ and it involves painting your self-portrait on a mirror. This is a technique that looks easy as you already see the form, size and all the colours you need, but the idea of looking deeper into your eyes, connecting and perhaps seeing thing you often try to escape make it challenging.

When you pass by a mirror do you stop and acknowledge yourself or you simply check your outfit and go?

We spent our whole life looking form the inside of our head and eyes towards the outside world, we can’t see our face or eyes if we don’t use a mirrored reflection. This often creates disconnection that leads to self-hatric, dissatisfaction and resentment. We believe in the worlds and voices that have told us who we are and what we deserve, instead of looking at that person in the mirror and letting him/her know how much we love them.

This is the hardest part - to look at your own eyes and express all the love and carrying you can. The same and even bigger amount that you would do to somebody you love dearly.

This workshop is created for this reason - to challenge you and connects you more with who you truly are. To help you see yourself in all of your glory. To give you the freedom to pain not necessarily what you see but what you FEEL.

The experience starts with a little circle talk where we discuss the power of the mirror and each participants’ experience. Followed by a short sided meditation to relax our body and mind and put us in a creative flow. We encourage you to use any simbol, work or shape in your art piece that you felt/saw during the meditation or something that relates to you personally.
